PIR Ducting
PIR duct is formed from rigid pre-insulated panel with aluminium facings, so insulation and duct are a single element. That removes the separate lagging stage and gives a low thermal loss, low-leakage distribution system.
It is well suited to air-conditioning supply in ceiling voids where weight, installation speed and condensation control matter.
Typical applications
- Air-conditioning supply distribution
- Offices, hotels and retail interiors
- Hospitals and clean environments
- Refurbishment where structural load matters
- Ceiling voids with restricted access
Engineered as a complete air path.
- 01
Panel cutting
Panels are cut and grooved to the designed duct dimensions.
- 02
Assembly
Sections are formed, glued and sealed with aluminium tape and profiles.
- 03
Installation
Light sections are lifted and supported without heavy steelwork.
- 04
Sealing check
Joints checked for leakage before ceilings are closed.
- Insulation built into the duct wall
- Significantly lighter than insulated sheet metal
- Low air leakage and reduced thermal loss
- Smooth internal surface and quiet operation

Common questions.
- Where should PIR not be used?
- It is not used for kitchen grease exhaust or high-temperature extraction, those runs are fabricated in GI.
- Does PIR duct prevent condensation?
- The insulated wall keeps the external surface above dew point in normal conditions, which is one of the main reasons it is chosen.
