Hot Air Extraction

Industrial hot air extraction paired with fresh air inflow ventilation to remove accumulated heat from roof spaces, process areas and equipment enclosures.

Heat rises and collects. Without a designed extraction path it builds under the roof and radiates back into the working area, raising ambient temperature and loading any cooling system that follows it.

We design extraction at the point where heat collects, using high-temperature rated fans and correctly positioned intake and discharge points so hot air leaves the building rather than recirculating.

Typical applications

  • Factory roof space and high-bay areas
  • Ovens, furnaces, boilers and curing lines
  • Generator and compressor rooms
  • Laundries and process plant
  • Welding and hot work areas

Engineered as a complete air path.

  1. 01

    Heat source mapping

Points of heat generation and accumulation are identified and quantified.

  2. 02

    Extraction path design

Extract points, duct routes and discharge positions are set to avoid short-circuiting.

  3. 03

    High-temperature fan selection

Fans rated for the continuous air stream temperature are specified.

  4. 04

    Make-up air

Replacement air is introduced at low level so extraction can actually work.

  • Lower ambient temperature in the working area
  • Reduced load on air-conditioning plant
  • Protection of equipment and stored materials
  • Safer, more comfortable conditions for operators

Related equipment

  • Belt driven cabinet fans (high temperature)
  • Bifurcated axial fans
  • Roof extract units
  • GI ducting

Common questions.

What air temperature can the fans handle?
Fan ranges are available for continuous operation at elevated temperatures; selection depends on the measured air stream temperature at the extract point.
Is natural ventilation enough?
Sometimes for low heat loads. Where heat output is significant or the roof space is enclosed, mechanical extraction gives predictable performance.
