GI Ducting
Ductwork determines whether a fan selection ever delivers its rated airflow. Undersized sections, sharp transitions and leaking joints all show up as lost volume and added noise.
GI ductwork is fabricated to calculated sizes with proper transitions, sealed joints and supports, in rectangular or circular section depending on the route and available space.
Typical applications
- Kitchen exhaust runs
- General supply and extract systems
- Fume and process extraction
- Air-conditioning distribution
- High-temperature extraction runs
Engineered as a complete air path.
- 01
Sizing
Duct sections sized for target velocity and acceptable pressure drop.
- 02
Fabrication
Sheet metal cut, formed, flanged and assembled to drawing.
- 03
Sealing & support
Joints sealed and duct supported at correct centres to prevent sag and leakage.
- 04
Insulation
Thermal or acoustic insulation applied where the application requires it.
- Design airflow delivered to each outlet
- Durable metal construction suited to grease and heat
- Lower system resistance and running noise
- Clean, coordinated installation
Related equipment
- Rectangular GI duct
- Circular GI duct
- Volume control dampers
- Fire dampers
- Sound attenuators
Common questions.
- Rectangular or circular duct?
- Circular duct is more efficient and easier to seal; rectangular is used where ceiling void depth is limited. Both are fabricated as needed.
- Can ducting be installed in an occupied building?
- Yes, with work sequenced around occupancy and access agreed beforehand.
