Box Type Acoustic Cabinet Fans
Where the fan sits close to occupied space, noise becomes the limiting factor. Cabinet fans house the impeller inside an acoustically insulated box, cutting breakout noise without giving up airflow.
Units are available with forward curved impellers for low noise and belt driven versions rated for high-temperature extraction, suitable for indoor or outdoor mounting.
Typical applications
- Hotel and restaurant ventilation
- Office and retail extract systems
- Toilet and general exhaust in occupied buildings
- Kitchen exhaust close to dining areas
- Plant rooms adjacent to quiet spaces
Engineered as a complete air path.

Acoustic housing
Cabinet lined with acoustic insulation to reduce radiated noise.
- 02
Impeller selection
Forward curved impellers give low noise at moderate pressure.
- 03
Mounting
Anti-vibration mounts and flexible duct connections prevent structure-borne noise.
- 04
Attenuation
Additional in-duct attenuators added where the target noise level requires it.
- Low noise in occupied and guest areas
- Compact box format suited to plant rooms and roofs
- Indoor or outdoor installation
- High-temperature belt driven versions available

Common questions.
- How much quieter is a cabinet fan?
- The reduction depends on the duty and the surrounding structure; where a specific noise limit applies we design to that figure with attenuation included.
- Can these be mounted outdoors?
- Yes, weatherised cabinet versions are available for roof and external installation.
